Get to know my life outside of design, what I do in my downtime, and some external projects I have participated in and worked on.
Besides engaging in design, I occupy my time with external activities that I am just as excited and passionate about. I enjoy enhancing my learning in this area of my life, picking up new skills and values I apply to my own work.

NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC:
NEW REVOLVING AGE
Starting out my journey in polytechnic, I joined an independent dance club here in NP known as New Revolving Age or for short, NRA. NRA is one of Singapore's most well-known clubs as one of the five polytechnic dance crews and the club has participated consistently in external and internal performances and competitions, receiving many awards in the process. Dance has been a huge part of my life for me and NRA has given me that opportunity to grow and to learn as a person and as a dancer throughout my time here.
One of the biggest obstacles and lessons participating in NRA was the challenge of balancing my working and dance life. As a CCA with huge commitment requirements, NRA has pushed me in aspects of time management, discipline, and the strive for excellence with the tedious cleaning of steps multiple times a week especially during production periods.
NRA apart from the dance solely has also given me leadership opportunities such as our annual camp where I signed up as a group leader in 2020. It was particularly tough as it was to be a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has never been done before but nevertheless, it provided me a challenge and an experience to learn to be engaging, a team-player with my co-leaders, and to handle situations such as technical difficulties, uncooperative participants. As of 2021, I am the current appointed president for NRA and I hope to continue to hone my leadership skills and build stronger bonds with my team and the members alike.
EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS
Aside from NRA, I started my dance journey with some friends I met online and from mutuals. We created our own dance crew, specializing in Korean Pop choreography, and participating in various external projects since 2017.
As a side hobby and activity, we enhance each other's learning from the various dance crews we are from in our respective schools. For example, we have a member who used to be in Strictly Dance Zone (SDZ), Singapore Polytechnic's hip hop dance club, and some from various university dance crews such as NUS's Jazzituide and NTU's MJ Dance crew. Coming from various sources of learning has allowed us to impart our knowledge into our practices and new skills to learn from one another.
Some external projects that we have performed and participated in, includes various student fundraising initiatives such as National Junior College's 2018 Jadite concert which was in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as well as Hwa Chong Institution's 2019 Concert Chrysalis, a fundraising event run by Project Butterfly Effect in support of Club Rainbow.
DRAWINGS
AND IDEATIONS
Arts has always been my stronger traits and interest and designing has allowed me to be able to play around and have fun with beautifying my concepts and ideas. In the various scans of my sketches, I mostly focus on drawings of furniture, particularly lighting design as that is my favorite object/aspect to design. I also try to coordinate my sketches with current projects. So, for example, some assignments explored the topic of biomimicry in design which can be seen in some of the sketches below. I think it's important for the process to look just as beautiful as the final product which is what I try to express in my work. Apart from that, I dabbled slightly into graphics, designing t-shirt graphics for NRA's annual camp where I got to design the Group Leaders' camp shirts which was inspired by the popular cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender.
