ELDEX COLLABORATION PROJECT: FURNISHING ACCESSORIES
ABOUT
Age often plays a huge role in design focus when targeting a specific demographic. As we age, so do our cognitive and mobile abilities, needing more aid in the daily tasks we do. In collaboration with Eldercare Exhibition and Conference Asia (ELDEX), the project looked at improving the lives of our fellow senior citizens in their homes. How are we able to implement design through the innovation of furnishing accessories, to cater to the needs and wants of the elderly?
"HEXPPEL" (2021)
Following the themes of "health" with the two project collaborations for ELDEX, "Hexppel" was targeted to bring wellness back home. Inspired by the many foot reflexology facilities in residential estates that are popular with the elderly, "Hexppel" allows the user to be able to customize and change the layout of each of the five hexagonal panels to allow the user to walk in different directions, in a wider area or a longer pathway, with the added feature of differing rock textures on each panel to give the user more choices in how they wanted to use the product.
